I have been trying to keep the pace – 10k or higher per day.  this post will allow me to be transparent about whether or not I’m meeting my goal.

Do you have any suggestions for how to get on your feet?  Leave your comments here!

Oct. 7, 2012:  11,886 – including shopping at the mall with my teen.
Oct. 8, 2012:  12,746 – included a walk with a co-worker along the lake!
Oct. 9, 2012:  15,325 – today a walked up to the 5th floor and back twice, out to lunch, and a little shopping walking after supper.  Wonder if there is a correlation between steps and expenses?
Oct. 10, 2012:  11,634 – an ordinary day at the office with an errand in the middle of the day.
Oct. 11, 2012:  16,550 – walk over Bascom Hill to State Street and back adds to my count today.
Oct. 12, 2012: 9,701 – but I got in a yoga class too!
Oct. 13, 2012: 18,887 – that’s what happens when you go up and down the stairs doing laundry and then you walk to dinner and back a couple miles round trip.  But I probably should take one more step for a nice 18,888 number…
Oct. 14, 2012:  3,582 – yep that’s it – cold rainy Sunday spent workign on my laptop and I took three “laps” around the “circle” I live on in the wind!
Oct. 15, 2012: 10,330 – made the goal, but not much more.
Oct. 16, 2012:  13,333 – nice walk after work.
Oct. 17, 2012:  9,536 – desk day
Oct. 18, 2012:  14,091 – (proving again that going out to lunch is healthy.)
Oct. 19, 2012:  9,132 – an evening on the couch – TGIF
Oct. 20, 2012:  13,949 – and the day not quite done.  Nice walk to the coffee shop and back this evening.

Averaging 13k….  I think that is OK and will be my new goal for my new walking post.

Additional note – I handed out 15 pedometers to people at work on 10/8 – felt so good to be on the giving end – not just the equipment, but hopefully the gift of getting people OUT of their chairs!
